Public Space Design . Term 2009_4

In the heart of the Mumbai suburb Bandra lies one of the few open water tanks of Mumbai. Today this small artificial lake is abandoned and wasted. The surrounding urban context shows a high level of mobility. It is not only a central hub for the Taxis and Motorrickshaws but also has contact to the Bandra railway station.

The task is to transform this abandoned urban space to a site in the city that provides the surrounding with a usable recreation interface. Especially the connection of the urban space with green and parkelements and the water have to be solved. Additional activities that attract people and increase the total amount of users have to be implemented.
